ROSS W. MITCHELL, 51, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, May 29, 2009 at William Newton Hospital.
Born June 12, 1957 in Winfield, he was the son of Travis W. and Lorene K. (Terry) Mitchell. He was raised and educated in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1975.
Ross was employed as a welder at Struthers Thermoflood and Fluid Kinetics for many years. He was a lifetime resident of Winfield and was a member of the Church of Christ where he was baptized on June 7, 1970. He loved the outdoors including fishing and hunting. He also had a love for all kinds of animals.
His family includes:
His parents: Travis W. and Lorene K. Mitchell of Winfield;
His brothers: Forrest W. Mitchell and wife, Bernadine F. of Noble, OK; Bradley W. Mitchell of Winfield;
His nephew: Travis W. Mitchell of Noble, OK; and
Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established in Ross's name for Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
