Obituary

Ronnie E. McCaslin, 67, of Winfield, passed away Saturday morning, November 28, 2009 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

Born August 9, 1942 in Winfield, he was the son of Henry J. and Erma L. (Watson) McCaslin. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1960.

Ronnie married Sharon Langdale in 1962; to this union two sons were born. The couple later divorced. He was united in marriage to Jan Beale in 1983. The couple made their home in Winfield, where Ronnie worked for the City of Winfield as a lineman in the electrical department for over 34 years, until retiring in 2002. Jan preceded him in death in 1994. He was currently engaged to Carolyn Wixon of Winfield.

He enjoyed picking up pecans, camping, fishing, bowling, and especially spending time with his family and his dogs.

His sons: Terry McCaslin and wife, Susan of Johnson City, NY; Mark McCaslin and wife, April of Arkansas City;
His brothers: Larry McCaslin and wife, Linda of Winfield; Raymond McCaslin and wife, Marilyn of Sand Springs, OK;
His sisters: Winona Watts and husband, Donald of Falcon, CO; Ladena VanEman of Marietta, GA; Beverly Crabtree and husband, Donald of Winfield;
His grandchildren: William McCaslin, Amanda McCaslin, Tate McCaslin, and Hallie McCaslin; and
His 3 great-grandchildren, several adopted children and grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Jan.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday afternoon, December 2, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 1. The family will greet visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 that evening.

A Memorial has been established in Mr. McCaslin's name for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
