Obituary

Ronita June (Harris) Venters, 81, long time resident of Winfield, Kansas, died March 1, 2015.

June was born June 6, 1933 in Palestine, Texas to Roy and Lois (Pool) Harris. She was raised and educated in Palestine and relocated to the Winfield area where she graduated from Cowley County Community College.

June was employed at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center, where she devoted 35 years of service, caring for others in need. She also worked part-time at Daylight Donuts and Sonic while with the state hospital.

While in Winfield, she was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. Upon retirement, June relocated to Herrington, Kansas, and was actively involved with the First Baptist Church where she dedicated much time to organize and lead their youth hand bell choir.

June was preceded in death by her mother and father and a sister, Hilda Lois Attaway.

Her family includes:
Her siblings: Francis Nobles of Cedar Park, TX; Roy Duane Harris of Austin, TX; Robert Harris of League City, TX;
Her four loving daughters: Elaine D. Clark and husband of Burnet, TX; Kellie L. Murrill and husband of Tulsa, OK; Kerrie A. Lake of Winfield, KS; Elise M. Clore and husband of Herington, KS;
Her 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 A.M. until service time on Thursday morning.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
