Ronald Gene Fulsom, 78, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, August 3, 2026 at William Newton Hospital.
Born July 2, 1948, in Clinton, Oklahoma, he was the son of Joe and Jean Louise (Griffin) Fulsom. He was raised and received his education in Grainola and Shidler, Oklahoma, graduating from Shidler High School. After school he joined the United States Marines and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Marines he returned home.
Ronnie spent his life ranching and working for his father’s construction business. During the late 80s through 1996, he worked in the mountains of Utah and Nevada tending cattle. He would only come down from the mountains to attend church and get supplies. In addition to working cattle, he enjoyed collecting guns. He loved his dogs and always had one with him while feeding cattle.
His family includes his sister Allison Leedy of Winfield; his brother Bo Fulsom and wife, Karen of Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark and Vearl.
Graveside funeral services with military committal honors will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
Memorials have been established in Ronnie’s name for the Fellowship of Christians and Jews and for the Kansas Veterans Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
