RONAL E. HEFFRON, 83, of rural Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, May 1, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born on October 8, 1927 in rural Winfield, he was the son of Ford and Freda (Miller) Heffron. He attended Tannehill school and later graduated from Winfield High School in 1946.

He was united in marriage to Frances Russell on February 23, 1947 in Winfield. He owned and operated Ronal Heffron Drilling from 1955 through the 1970's. The couple owned and operated Posey Creek Gardens from 1972 until 1991.

Ronal was a member of the Hackney Community Baptist Church. In addition to his passion for farming, he loved KU Basketball.

His sisters: Evelynn McCutcheon of Ponca City, OK; Doris Long of Winfield, KS: and Darlene Dulaney of Rock Springs, WY;
His grandchildren: John C. Mull and wife Michelle, Jeramy Mull and wife Lori, Darla Blake and husband Aaron, James Heffron and wife Jasmine, Jennifer Preston and husband Brian; and
His great-grandchildren: John R. Mull, Jack Mull, Jessica Mull, Shelby Blake, Tyler Blake, Isabelle Mull, Jonah Mull, Lane Preston, Landon Preston, Taylor Heffron & Kara Heffron.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 4, 2011.

A memorial has been established in Mr. Heffron's name for the Hackney Community Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
