ROLLIN CHARLES LEEDY, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away at Winfield Rest haven, on the morning of New Year's Day, 2015.
Born on April 7, 1925 near the Spring Branch area, east of Cedar Vale, Kansas, he was the son of Gertrude and Abram Leedy. Rollin was the youngest of six children, and he greatly loved his sisters, Ailien, Afton, Rebecca, Gunile, and Carol. Rollin graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1944.
A veteran of World War II., Mr. Leedy proudly served his country in the United States Army, and was part of the Japan invasion and was stationed in the Philippines.
After his tour of service, he returned to Cedar Vale, and was united in marriage to Nadine Champlin on June 24, 1949, in the home of her parents, John & Fairy Champlin. Together they began a life of farming and ranching and raising their four sons: Joel, Ken, Neal, and Stanley. Their home was full of love, laughter, and faith in God. Rollin enjoyed coaching his sons' summer baseball teams and supporting them in their school athletics. He was an avid quail hunter and fisherman and always made time to take his boys hunting and fishing. Rollin's pride was his stocker and feeder cattle operations. Rollin was a life time member of the Cedar Vale Church of Christ.

His 14 grandchildren: Julie Jeffs, Stephen Leedy, Christian Wilbur and husband Jacob, Brad Rector, Paige Smith, Brian Leedy and wife Sarah Beth, Ashley Owens and husband Teddy, Matthew Leedy, Mary Leedy, Wyatt Leedy, Clay Leedy and Lisa Marie Cargill, Michael Cargill and Jonathan Leedy;
His 7 great-grandchildren; Cole Jeffs, Karter & Kacen Wilbur, Kirbey, Palmer & Harlan Leedy, and Layton Owens;
His sister: Gunile West of Tulsa, OK;
His brother-in-law; Jay King of Broken Arrow, OK;
His sisters-in-law: Donna Green of Independence, KS; Norma Beecham of Winfield, KS; and Virginia Champlin of Arkansas City, KS; and
A host of loving nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nadine; his four sisters, Ailien, Afton, Rebecca and Carol; and his daughter-in-law, Jean Leedy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Cedar Vale Church of Christ, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, with Joe Thomas presiding. Interment will follow at the Cedar Vale Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Monday evening, January 5, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Rollin's name for the Flint Hills Christian Camp. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
