Roland E. Hutchison, 70, of Winfield, passed away Monday morning, December 28, 2009 at his home.

Born April 03, 1939 in Woodward, Oklahoma, he was the son of Olan Leslie and Agnes Maxine (Alley) Hutchison. He was raised and received his early education in Woodward. When he was 15 the family moved to Udall where Roland attended Udall High School. After High School he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Roland returned home to Wichita from the Navy and began working for Niece Construction as a brick layer where he remained until retiring in 2001. In the early 1980's he moved to Winfield to have more room to work on his antique cars.

He enjoyed going to swap meets, and restoring and collecting antique cars.

His son: Gene Hutchison and wife, Jennifer of Udall;
His brothers: John Giddens of Winfield; Gary Giddens of Henderson, TN;
His sister: Rita Wolf of Udall;
His grandchildren: Michael Richardson, Jeffery Richardson, Breanna Hutchison, Dakota Hutchison, Cameron Hutchison, and Levi Hutchison; and
His great grandson: Caiden Bergmen

In addition to his parents Roland was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jay Richardson, and his brothers Jimmie Lee Hutchison and Dennis Lee Giddens.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Udall Nazarene Church. Interment will follow at the Belle Plaine Cemetery, in Belle Plaine. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M., Friday January 1, 2010. The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., that evening.

A memorial has been established in Roland's name for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
