Roger Lee Williams' Obituary
Roger Lee Williams,
72, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday evening, September 7, 2017 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.
Born September 3, 1945 in Winfield, he was the son of Robert Lee and Wanda (Overbey) Williams. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School. He then attended Southwestern College in Winfield.
After school Roger began working for Dawson Monument. He then took a position in maintenance at William Newton Hospital where he worked for many years. He later worked in maintenance for several area businesses, and was known as a man that could fix anything. He enjoyed working on cars and computers.
His family includes:
His sister: Margaret Showalter and husband, Steven of Arkansas City;
His brother: Bruce Williams and wife, Carol of Topeka;
His niece: Holly Hulsopple and husband, Branden of Topeka;
His nephew: Brian Williams of Topeka; and
Several cousins.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield on Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 P.M. and on Thursday morning from 9 to 11 A.M.
