ROGER N. SNYDER, 76, of Burden, Kansas, went to be with the Lord Friday evening, June 3, 2011.

Born December 24, 1934 in Winfield, he was the son of Donald B. and Leona T. (Berry) Snyder. He was raised in Winfield and Burden, graduating from Burden High School. Roger worked for Southern Kansas Telephone Company, but he made his career as a farmer and rancher.

He was united in marriage to Cina Tamboer on December 31, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas. The couple made their home in Wichita and later in Burden.

Roger accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 38. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Burden. He enjoyed fishing, reading, watching old western movies and horseback riding, but his true love was spending time with his grandchildren.

His family includes:
His wife: Cina of the home;
His sons: Doug Snyder and wife, Jody of Andover, Kansas; and Clint Snyder and wife, Tammy of Derby, Kansas;
His brother: Jerry Snyder and wife, Margaret of Scott City, Kansas;
His grandchildren: Kaleigh, Jacob, Heidi and Kyle Snyder; and
His nieces and nephews: Gina Boswell, Jania Kistler, Trent Peninger, Cheryl Darbro and Dawna Snyder.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Ray Snyder.

Private Graveside funeral services will be held at Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.

A Memorial has been established for Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
