Roger Lee Phillips, 69, of Winfield, Kansas, peacefully passed away, early morning of June 19, 2023 at the Winfield Senior Living Community.

He was  born on April 18, 1954, in Winfield, to Sarah Alida Conde Phillips and Arlen Lee Phillips. He went to school in Arkansas City, and later, settled in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Roger returned to his hometown years later to be close to  family.

Never married, Roger enjoyed his bachelor style of life with travel, fishing, and being a jokester. His hardy appetite for "being bossy" kept everyone who knew him entertained. Roger loved animals of all sorts. Though Roger had a tough life, his love never swayed for his  family and friends and always kept a smile ready for those who needed it.

He is brother to Sheryl Ann Fortneberry (Gary Fortenberry) of Arkansas City; and an uncle and great-uncle to multiple nieces and nephews.

Roger is preceded in death by his father, Arlen Phillips, mother, Sarah Phillips, a brother, two sisters, and nephew, Casey Fortenberry.

Cremation is in effect. A brief memorial service for family and friends will be held at the Winfield Senior Living Community, 1320 Wheat Road, Winfield,Ks.67156, on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. (staff and residents invited).
