ROCKY ROSKYDOLL, 49, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, November 30, 2012 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, surrounded by his loving family.
Rocky was born January 31, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to his mother, Liza "Nina" Mahurin. He was raised and educated in Arkansas City.
He was united in marriage to Lorie Halverstadt on January 23, 2009 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield.
Rocky broke, trained and raced race horses for twenty five years. He worked for Dennett Tree Service for eight years and most recently worked for Schneider Construction in Arkansas City. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He loved to fish and ride horses. He was a handyman that everyone could count on. He enjoyed woodworking and mechanic work.

His father: Joe Daigle of Winfield;
His brothers: Jack Roskydoll of Winfield; Bruce Cook of Winfield; Peter Daigle of Taftville, CT; and DeWayne Luna and wife, Tisha of Winfield;
His sisters: Loretta Kay Mayes and fiance, Dennis Claymon of Winfield; Priscilla Lynn Palmer of Winfield; Amie Martin and husband, Kelly of Jewett City, CT; and Julie Jeffries and husband, Jim of Lambertville, MI;
His grandchildren: Triniti and Caleb Bigelow, Derek Roskydoll, and Mariah Ramos, Arianna Ramos, and Donnie Ramos, III, and two on the way;
His nieces and nephews: Joseph Abdi, Charlotte Wilson, Waynetta Hatker, River Lawson, Logan Roskydoll, Alayna, Kyler and Kaden Kawik, Jack Roskydoll, Jr., and Brittany and Anthony Luna;
And several great nephews and nieces.
Rocky was preceded in death by his mother, Nina Daigle, his brothers, Robert Allen Roskydoll and Thomas Lee Cook, his uncle, Clifford Mahurin, his Aunt Marge Follis and several other aunts and uncles.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 P.M.
A Memorial has been established to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
