ROBIN MUNCASTER, 80, of Austin, Texas, passed away July 7, 2008 at the Hill Country Care Nursing Home in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Born on May 5, 1928 in Harman, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Bert and Bessie (Farrington) Kelly. She was raised and educated in the Cedar Vale, Kansas area graduating from Cedar Vale High School. As a young woman, Robin worked as a hair dresser and a model in Tulsa and New York She attended Kansas State University for a year and then attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, receiving her teaching degree. She was an elementary school teacher in Cedar Vale for over 25 years, retiring in 1989.

Robin was an artist. She loved to paint, especially landscape scenes. She also did clay sculptures. She served on the Kansas Teacher's Association for a number years, as well as the Rural Water Board for Chautauqua County.

Her nieces: Trudy Swint of Hutchinson; Ginger Steinbach of Rising Sun, IN; Cindy Davenport of Overton, NE; and Terri Hawkins of Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, at 10:30 A.M., at the Cedar Vale United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Cedar Vale Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service in Winfield is in charge of arrangements.
