Roberta "Bobbie" Lee Knight, 54, of Winfield, passed away Thursday June 21, 2018 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, due to complications of pneumonia and sepsis.

Born December 7, 1963, in Coffeyville, Kansas, she was the daughter of Robert and Jewell (Peyton) Rupert. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Otis G. Howell and received her education in the Wichita area. Bobbie was united in marriage to Melvin Lee Knight, Jr. in 1982. The couple made their home in Severy, and Bobbie worked for Tow Service, Inc. out of Wichita. The couple had 2 daughters. Melvin preceded her in death due to a motor vehicle accident in 1987, Bobbie then moved to Winfield. In 1993 she was in a motor vehicle accident that rendered her a paraplegic. After the accident Bobbie and her children resided with her mother and step-father in Winfield.

Prior to her accident Bobbie enjoyed fishing, friends, NASCAR, cooking, playing pool, and BINGO. After the accident she enjoyed visiting with friends and family, going out to eat, shopping, being the test taster for her daughter Misti's food creations, playing cards and dominoes, BINGO, Casino, and spending time with her beloved Siamese cat, Puddles.

Bobbie's whole life, before and after the accident, she was always concerned for others wellbeing. She rarely complained about anything and always saw the bright side of everything. She always had a smile on her face to greet you. She would always say, "Everything happens for a reason."

Her family includes her daughters, Misti Ingram and husband, Nate of Winfield, Kristie Knight of Wichita; granddaughter Kirstie Stiner of Winfield; mother Jewell "Kay" Howell of Winfield; brothers, Steve Rupert, Sr. and wife Vicki of Wichita, Chuck Rupert and wife Trudy of Haysville; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her kitty cat, Puddles.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Rupert, step-father Otis G. Howell, husband Melvin Lee Knight, Jr., and her sister Glenna Rupert.

Funeral services will be Saturday June 30, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday June 29, 2018 from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 P.M. that evening.

In lieu of Flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bobbie's name for her only granddaughter, Kirstie Stiner's education.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
