Robert Dale Rodgers' Obituary
Robert Dale Rodgers, Jr., 56, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning August 5, 2012 at his home.
Born July 24, 1956 at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas he was the son of Robert and Nikolina (Bjarnadottir) Rodgers. At age 9 he went to live at Parson's State Hospital, where he remained until 1998 when he moved to Winfield under the care of Southwind ResCare. He enjoyed church services, car rides, walks, zoo trips, listening to music, and playing dominoes.
His family includes:
His brothers: Pall B. Rodgers of Houston, TX; Carl R. Rodgers of Hampton, VA;
His sisters: Diane Thomson of Hampton, VA; Debra Rodgers of Hampton, VA; and
Several nieces, nephews and caregivers.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
A Memorial has been established in Mr. Rodgers' name for Southwind ResCare in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
