Robert Gary Odell, 47, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at his home.

Born October 16, 1970 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Robert Greathouse "Bob" and Nancy Jo "Jody" (Utt) Odell.  He was raised and received his early education in Winfield.  Rob attended high school at St. John's Military School in Salina, graduating in 1989.  After high school, he attended Cowley County Community College before joining the United States Army.  After receiving a Medical Discharge from the Army, he moved to Kansas City.  From 1991 to 1992, he attended Valley Forge Military College in Pennsylvania.

Upon returning to Kansas, he began his career at Office Max.  Rob transferred to Colorado and returned to Wichita in 1999.  He remained with Office Max for over 18 years.  In 2015, he left Office Max to take a position as Asset Protection Manager for Wal-Mart in Hutchinson, Kansas.  Rob also worked as a volunteer for Sedgwick County Emergency Management for over 15 years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winfield.  He enjoyed target shooting, hanging out with his parents and cooking for friends and neighbors.

Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces; and
His many friends.

Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Winfield.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M.  The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Rob's name for First Baptist Church in Winfield.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
