Robert "Bruce" Martin, 67, of Dexter, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, February 17, 2014, at his home in Dexter.
Born May 5, 1946 in Winfield, Kansas he was the son of William Raymond and Marie Maude (Eastman) Martin. He was raised south of Dexter and received his education at Olathe School for the Deaf.
After school, he began working at Hyre Boot Company in Olathe. He later moved to Wichita and began working for Guaranteed Meats with his brother, Ray. Bruce then moved to the family farm in rural Dexter and began working at Gott/Rubbermaid. He remained at Rubbermaid for over 30 years, until retiring in 2004.
He was a member of Hicks Chapel Church. He enjoyed attending all the sporting events in Dexter and many in Winfield.

His sisters: Cleota Sherwood and husband, Ross of Silverdale; Freda Hite and husband, Kenneth of Fulton, TX;
His sisters-in-law: Donna Martin of Dexter; Bonnie Martin of Nebraska; Sharon Martin of Oklahoma; and
Many nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray, Haskell and Bert Martin, and his nephews, Randy Sherwood and Justin Martin.
Graveside Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Maple City Cemetery in Maple City. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A Memorial has been established in Mr. Martin's name for Hicks Chapel Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
