ROBERT (BOB) JOSEPH LEIS, 78, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2014.
Born on May 14, 1935 in Goddard, Kansas, he was the son of Marcus Simon and Elizabeth Rose (Degand) Leis. He was raised and received his education in Douglass, Kansas.

He was united in marriage to Lila May Boland on September 21, 1957 in Enid, Oklahoma. Bob worked for various aircraft companies, including Davis and Beech. He later started his own business, Bob's Mobile Home Maintenance Company which he operated from 1971 to 1997. He went on to work for McAdams Limestone and Western Feed Mills, retiring in 1999.

Bob was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church in Sedan, Kansas. He was a member of the Cedar Vale Civil Defense, volunteered for the Cedar Vale Fire Department and was an EMS Driver. Bob served several terms on the Cedar Vale City Council. He enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family especially when hunting, fishing, camping and boating.

His family includes:
His wife: Lila of 56 years;
His children: Michael Ahrens, Charlotte (Randy) Reasor, Robert Joseph (Becky) Leis Jr., Kathy (Richard) Wacker, Karen (Crystal) Leis, Thomas (Karole) Leis and William/WD (Darcey) Leis;
His brother: Victor Leis;
His sisters: Joyce Jones and Lola (Jim) Small;
His 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and
Numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Anthony (Tony) Leis, Marcus (Mark) Leis and Cecil Leis; 4 sisters, Antoinette (Nettie) Roeder, Henrietta Hilger, and Elizabeth Rose (Betty) Gehlen Nancy Ann Leis; and 1 great-grandson.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 320 N. Main, Moline. Kansas. Interment will follow at Cedar Vale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, April 25, 2014 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. The family will be present before and after the Rosary to greet friends.

A memorial has been established in Bob's name with the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
