Robert A. "Bob" Johnson, 67, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, August 2, 2021, at Alliance Health in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Born May 28, 1954, in El Dorado, Kansas, he was the son of Robert L. and Edna M. (Hougland) Johnson. He was raised and received his education in South Central Kansas. Following school, Bob joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Bob returned to the Winfield area.

While in Winfield, he worked for several area farms, at Riverview Manor in Oxford, and worked as a mechanic, primarily for friends and family. He spent the majority of his working career in the Elevator at Valley Coop. Bob was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed playing bluegrass music and attending the Walnut Valley Festival.

His family includes his mother Edna Lewis of Winfield; his stepchildren, Dustin Moore of Winfield; Brandon Tate of Winfield; his two brothers, Terry J. Johnson and wife, Donna of Winfield; Ryan Lewis and wife, Sasha of Winfield; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Bob was preceded in death by a sister Lou Ann Enslow and his stepfather Dee Lewis.

Graveside memorial services and military committal honors will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. The family request those in attendance wear face coverings.

A memorial has been established in Bob's name for Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
