Robert "Bob" Shaver, 77, of Burden, Kansas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 7, 2018 at his home.

Born April 8, 1940 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of James A. and Nina H. (Lowe) Shaver. He was raised and received his education in the Winfield area, graduating from Winfield High School in 1958. Bob was a lifetime resident of Cowley County where he worked for Southwestern Bell and the City of Winfield, Electrical Department for several years. He helped on the family farm until the death of his father, when he took over operation of the farm.

He was a member of Grandview United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed spending time at the Winfield lake, boating, water skiing and camping.

His family includes:

His nephews: Tim Bolack, Brad Bolack, Tracy Bolack, Mike Shaver, Rob Shaver and Chip Shaver.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Shaver and niece, Buffy K. Bolack.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
