ROBERT MARTIN IRETON, 83, lifelong resident of Winfield, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at Good Samaritan Village.

Born February 25, 1928 in Winfield, he was the son of Harry L. and Florence (Reuther) Ireton. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School.

Bob was united in marriage to Violet V. Ridgway on March 6, 1949. The couple made their home in Winfield and had six children. Violet preceded him in death on November 4, 1991.

Mr. Ireton married Martha Harder on December 5, 1992. Martha preceded him in death on September 8, 2009.

Bob worked at Boeing and was the County Commissioner for eight years. He was also on the Fairview Township Board. His life's passion was farming though. He loved agricultural farming, especially wheat.

His family includes:
His children: Phil Stover and wife, Jessie of Winfield; Robert D. Ireton and wife, Jennie of Winfield; Wes Ireton of Winfield; John Ireton and wife, Linda of Bennington; Brenda Butters and husband, Jim of Winfield; and Mike Ireton and wife, Joyce of Winfield;
His brother: Jim Ireton and wife, Gloria of Colorado;
His 11 grandchildren; and
His 20 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harry and Florence, and his wives, Violet and Martha, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Gene Ireton, and his sisters Ruth Finley and Judy Lindly.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Akron Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Mr. Ireton's name for Grandview United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
