Ricky Lee Neubecker, 53, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday evening, January 15, 2015 at the Robert J. Dole VA Hospital Hospice Unit in Wichita.
Born September 21, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Eddie and Karon (Peninger) Neubecker. He was raised and received his education in Cowley County and graduated from Dexter High School in 1980. After school Rick joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country. After his honorable discharge he returned to Kansas.
In the early 1980's Rick moved to Southern California where he worked as a manager for several storage facilities. He was very handy and was able to handle most maintenance issues as well as manage the facilities. He loved to travel and spent time living in Florida and Maryland before returning to Southern California. In April of 2014 Rick moved to Winfield, Kansas to be near his family.
He enjoyed exploring, fishing, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog Harley.

His brothers: David Neubecker of Winfield; Jimi Young of Wichita; John Young of Wichita; David Penedia of Oklahoma; and
His many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Rick was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Robin Neubecker, and his niece, Kimberly Neubecker.
A graveside memorial service with Military Committal Honors will be held under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield.
A memorial has been established in Rick's name for the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Hospital Hospice Unit in Wichita. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
