Richard K. Satterlee, 75, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, May 1, 2020 at the Kansas Veterans Home due to complications from Parkinson's Disease.

Richard Keith was born November 14, 1944 in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Paul A. and Mary A. (Parker) Satterlee.  He attended school in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 1962.  He entered the United States Army in 1962 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1965.

Richard and Claudia Sue Parsons were married for 22 years.  They raised three children, Bryan Heath, Michele Dian, and Robin Ann.  They later divorced.  Richard worked for Boeing, Santa Fe Railroad, the Winfield City Lake, and General Electric.  He spent a lot of time working on the farm with his father, working cattle and wrenching on a tractor.  He worked hard as well as played hard.  Richard enjoyed fishing.  He was an active member of the American Legion Post #10 in Winfield and serviced as Adjuvant for several years.

His family includes his mother Mary A. Satterlee of Winfield; his children, Bryan Satterlee of Fayetteville, AR; Dr. Michele Eckermann and husband, Jason of Harlan, IA; Robin Hoyt of Wellington; his five grandchildren, Heath Satterlee, Lane Hoyt, Kendall Hoyt, Jared Eckermann, and Grace Eckermann; his siblings, Carol A. Satterlee of Winfield; and Gary H. Satterlee and wife, Peggy of Winfield; and his niece and nephews, Jill Conaway and husband, Adam; Scott Satterlee; and Mark Satterlee all of Winfield.

Richard was preceded in death by his father Paul A. Satterlee and a sister Janet Karen.

Cremation has been effected.  Military Committal Honors will be held at Star Valley Cemetery near Udall at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 14, 2020.  Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
