Richard Ellsworth Greer, 69,
of East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Born June 16, 1947 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Raleigh and Eulalia (Wallace) Greer. He was raised and received his education in Winfield.
Richard worked at GE as a mechanic, and had travelled to Vietnam to disassemble engines. He then worked for his uncle as a cement finisher and carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
His family includes:
His sons: Richard, Jr. and Christopher;
His daughter: Latisha
His brother: Ronald Greer and wife, Tonya of Winfield;
His sisters: Joan Baptista of Wichita; Kimberly Duru of Wichita; and
Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Gary Greer.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established in Richard's name for Second Baptist Church in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
