RICHARD IRL FIFE, 60, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born on February 3, 1948, in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Irl and Ruth Barbara (Brown) Fife. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1966.

He was united in marriage to Becky Lou Jennings in Winfield, on November 28, 1970. The couple made their home in Winfield. Richard and his father owned and operated the Winfield Nurseries for many years. He was currently employed by Rubbermaid.

Richard was a lifelong Winfield resident and an avid outdoorsman. He loved to tell a good story. He will be deeply missed by many friends and family.

He is survived by:
His wife: Becky of Arkansas City, KS;
His daughter: Wendy Zuck and husband, Mark of Boulder, CO;
His son: Jeff Fife and wife, Laurie of Ankeny, IA;
His sister: Ruth Ellen Parman of Winfield, KS; and
His grandchildren: Anderson, Paxon, and Parker.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lily Fife.

Cremation has been effected. Friends may sign a register book and share stories with the family at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield on Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 11:00 to 2:00. A Private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

A Memorial has been established in Mr. Fife's name for the Island Park Playground Fund. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
