Obituary

Reed L. Brammer, 62, of Winfield, passed away Wednesday evening, June 17, 2020 at his home.

Born January 7, 1958 in Arkansas City, Kansas, he was the son of Richard Leon and Iona May (Carder) Brammer. He was raised and received his education in Arkansas City, graduating from Arkansas City High School in 1976.

Reed was united in marriage to Vicki Gonzales on June 19, 1982 in Arkansas City. The couple made their home in Winfield where Reed worked for Rubbermaid for 35 years, until retiring in 2014.

He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, attending his children's activities, and his church family. He was especially proud of his son's military service.

His family includes his wife Vicki Brammer of Winfield; his son Richard Brammer and wife, Renee of Temple, TX; his daughter Carmen Brammer of Wichita; his brothers, Robert Brammer and wife, Ann of Arkansas City; Roger Brammer and wife, Marietta of Arkansas City; Rick Brammer and wife, Rena of Arkansas City; his sister Barbara Myers and husband, Michael of Tarboro, NC; and his granddaughter, Raquel Brammer of Temple, TX.

In addition to his parents, Reed was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Brammer, and a nephew John Brammer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 22, 2020 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the church. Services are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.  Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, seating at the church will be limited.

Memorials have been established in Reed's name for Knights of Columbus #4713 and for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
