Ray Allen Houser, 63, of Mulvane, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, April 20, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Born January 24, 1952 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Charles William Daily and Pauline Grace (Howard) Houser. He was raised and received his early education in Rock, Kansas and then attended Douglass High School.
Ray married Joreta Gardner in April of 1974 in Winfield, Kansas, the couple made their first home in Rock, Kansas where Ray and his brother Chet began farming. The brothers farmed for over 18 years in Cowley County. Ray and Joreta added two daughters to their family, and in 1980 they moved to Udall, Kansas. The couple later divorced. Ray also worked in Wichita as an aircraft mechanic and later as a mechanic on John Deere tractors.
In 1997 while fishing he met Dianna Shell. The couple married on September 7, 1999 in Augusta, Kansas. The couple made their home in Mulvane and enjoyed camping and fishing on the weekends at Butler County Fishing Lake and the El Dorado Lake.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and loved guns.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a sister, Claudine Marie Wiseman and a son-in-law, Bradley Barker.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 27, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Winfield.
A memorial has been established in Ray's name for the Cowley County FFA. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
