Obituary

Randy Lee Camp, 64, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Diversicare of Haysville.


Born February 1, 1962, in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of John LeRoy and Delores (Hull) Camp.  He was raised and attended high school in Winfield.  He later attended Independence Community College as a science student, receiving the Ratcliff Science Scholarship and the Kansas Women's Scholarship.  He was on the Presidential Honor Roll.  He attended Kansas City Mortuary College and obtained his Funeral Director and Embalmer's license in 1991.  He worked for the funeral home in Moline, Kansas for a few years.


Randy was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Winfield.  Through the many struggles and hardships Randy encountered, he always looked to his hero, Jesus Christ.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as shed hunting.  He would then carve out the sheds he found.  He was crafty and enjoyed woodworking and carving.  He was a writer and authored many poems.


Survivors include his children, Kylie Jo of Topeka; Daniel Alan of Winfield; Kyle Craig of Eureka; Colin Lee of Bartlesville, OK; and Chantelle of Coffeyville; his many grandchildren, Brooklyn and Everett, Jaden and Alexia, Caden, Sam, Daniel, and Paul, and Jackson, D'mitrius, and Addilynn; his siblings, Billy Don, Deanna, Theresa, Lisa, Wes, and Leslie; his ex-wife and good friend Tena Payne of Wellington; his special friend Starla Gagleman of Great Bend; his aunts, Shirley and Jeanice; and his K9 companion Lily Beth.


In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by siblings, Craig Camp, Clayton, and Sharon.


Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2026, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 PM.  Friends will gather at The Grove Friday evening after 6 PM.


A memorial has been established in Randy's name for the Cowley County Humane Society.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
