Randel Lee "Randy" Haselwood, 65, of Rosalia, formerly of Burden, died Oct. 11, 2015, at his home.
Randy was born number seven of 14 children to Lora Denton (Davidson) and Neil Haselwood in Wichita on Sept. 10, 1950.
In October 1981, he married the love of his life Rebecca Ann Maddux, and they were married for 34 years. They resided in Burden where they raised two boys, Saxton and Winslow.
A devoted father, Randy's life was his family. He enjoyed trapping for fur and had a trapping business around Cowley County for several years. He also enjoyed drawing, martial arts, boxing and playing blues guitar. Often Randy could be found jamming in a homemade music studio in the family garage with his two sons who played guitar and drums. He traveled to many places and trained nearly a dozen Samoyeds to pull a dog sled.
Randy worked in construction for several years, in the aircraft industry and in fur trapping, was a chimney sweep and worked in maintenance before retiring in 2012. He lived in several places including Wichita, California, Jacksonville, Fla., and Burden and then a quiet country home in Rosalia where he lived out his days.
He was preceded by his parents; a son Saxton; and two brothers Virgil Baker and Jimmy Haselwood.
Survivors include his wife Becky; two daughters, Danita Reed and husband Justin, Wichita, and Phillina Faith Haselwood Lewis and husband Michael, Fort Leonardwood, Mo.; one son Winslow Haselwood and wife Olivia, Towanda; seven brothers, Richard R. Baker, Ronald G. Baker, Robert W. Baker, Rodney A. Baker, Bernie J. Haselwood, Bruce A. Davidson and David A. Davidson; three sisters, Romia Jean Moel, Dolly M. Roberts and Suzann M. Griffin; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at Miles Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015. Burial will be in Burden Cemetery.
