Randall "Randy" Schooley, 69, of Latham, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at William Newton Hospital.
Born August 13, 1956, in Winfield, he was the son of Richard J. and Marcile Karan (Hall) Schooley. He was raised and received his education in Cambridge, Burden, and Latham, graduating from Central High School in Burden in 1974.
He was united in marriage to Cindy Brewer on June 22, 1977, at the Latham Christian Church. The couple made their home in Latham where Randy built custom fences and pens for area farmers, as well as doing custom hay work. He spent his life as a cattle rancher and was proud of the butcher beef he produced.
Randy's greatest joy was his family. He loved spending time with his grandkids, going to their sporting events and activities and taking them fishing. He also enjoyed socializing.
His family includes his wife Cindy Schooley of Latham; his children, T.J. Schooley and wife, Courtney of Arkansas City; Leigh Ann Smith of Burden; Tony Schooley and wife, Melissa of Burden; Chet Beers and wife, Niki of Burden; his brother Jim Schooley and wife, Peggy of Cambridge; his sister Leah Henderson and husband, Ed of Burden; his sister-in-law Roxann Schooley of Cambridge; his grandchildren, Boe Smith, Lexy (Brendan) Mackey, Jill Smith (Weston Hasty), Russ Smith, Chloie Hey (Landon), Laine Schooley, Luke Smith, Blake Craig, Brylee Schooley, Anna Smith, Korbin Schooley, Lainey Beers; his great grandchildren, Waylon Mackey, Lila Hasty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by a brother Bart A. Schooley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Latham Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. The family will greet from 4 to 6 that evening.
A memorial has been established in Randy's name for the Atlanta Fire Department. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
