RALPH E. WENINGER, 79, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Saturday morning, June 22, 2013 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Born September 6, 1933 in Oatville, Kansas, he was the son of Clarence and Elizabeth (Korte) Weninger. He was raised on his parents' farm in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School in 1952.
He was united in marriage to Pauline Marie Doll on July 20, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich, Kansas. The couple established their home and family farm north of Winfield. Ralph farmed grain and raised livestock all his life. He worked in the aircraft industry for a few years before marriage and while the couple's children were young.
He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, was a Charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4713, and was a 4th Degree member of the Bishop Mark A. Carroll Assembly. Ralph was involved on the Udall School Board and the Udall 4-H Club, and was a member of the Cowley County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed history and geography, especially exploring mills and bridges.

His brothers: John Weninger of Wichita; and Marvin Weninger (Kay) of Knoxville, TN;
His sister: Catherine Lampe of Kingman;
His grandchildren: Melissa Hund-Cerna (Jhon); Sarah Solberg (Joe); Tim Weninger (Jordan); Tyler and Thomas Weninger, Emily, Megan and Kathleen Sauber; Alex and Josh Hanna; Michael and Logan Weninger; and Anna and Matthew Taylor; and
His great grandchildren: Eliza Cerna and Caleb Weninger.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Weninger.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Winfield. The Rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening, June 26 at Holy Name Catholic Church at 7:00 P.M. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A Memorial has been established in Ralph's name for Holy Name Catholic School. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
