Obituary

RALPH E. HARPER Sr., 64, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at his home.

Born August 25, 1944, in Walnut, Kansas, he was the son of Roy and Beulah May (Falder) Harper. Ralph was raised and received his education in Winfield.

Ralph was united in marriage to Velta "Fay" Creamer on March 9, 1962 in Winfield. The couple made their first home in Winfield. In 1965 they moved their family to Culver City, California to help Ralph's brother run his gas station. In 1971 they returned to Winfield where Ralph began working for Rubbermaid. He held many different positions at Rubbermaid until he retired in 2007. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

His family includes:
His son: Mike Harper and fiancé, Tina of Winfield;
His daughter: Sandy Zanardi and husband, Steve of Winfield;
His brother: Jerry Harper and wife, Dede of Deerfield, OK;
His sisters: Bea Armstrong of Winfield; Katie Pacorny and husband, Bill of Texas; and
His 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a son Ralph E. Harper Jr. and a brother Joe Harper.


Graveside funeral services will be held Friday March 20, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday March 19, 2009 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., the family will greet visitors from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established in Mr. Harper's name for Alzheimer research. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
