Phyllis D. Lemon, 75, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, September 23, 2015 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.
Born August 8, 1940 on a farm near Belle Plaine, Kansas, she was the daughter of John H. and Effie Kathleen (Crider) Spencer. She was raised on a farm outside of Belle Plaine and the family later moved to Winfield where Phyllis attended high school, graduating in 1959.
She married Charles Montgomery in 1960 in Winfield, Kansas. They made their home in Jacksboro, Texas. To this union, five children were born. The couple later divorced.
In 1974, Phyllis returned to Winfield, Kansas where she met and married Kenneth Robinson. To this union, one child was born. They later divorced. Phyllis worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center for over 20 years. She later worked at Creative Community Living and at Good Samaritan Society in Winfield.
On February 14, 2015, she was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Lemon. The couple made their home in Winfield. She was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church in Winfield. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards as well as going to garage sales and flea markets. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Her step-children: Janette Lodwick and husband, Fred G. of Winfield; Kendra Overall and husband, J.D. of Parsons; Rex Kennedy of Joplin, MO; Teresa Lemon of McPherson; Charles Montgomery of Columbia, MO;
Her brothers: Harold Spencer and wife, Judy of Wellington; Billy L. Spencer of Oxford; Kenneth Spencer and wife, Patrice of Floresville, TX; and
Her 20 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Sutton.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 28, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Phyllis' name to help purchase a monument. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
