PHONE PHRAKONEKHAM, 60, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2014 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Born on February 15, 1954 in HuaPhanh Province, Laos, he was the son of Phanthavong and Phim Phetvixay. He was raised, educated and received his teaching certification in Laos. Phone taught in the public school system in Laos.
He was united in marriage in 1979 to Chanthavy Phrakonekham in Laos. The family moved to California in 1991 and have made their home in Winfield since 1994. He was employed at Rubbermaid as a machine operator.
He was a member of a Wichita Buddhist temple. Phone enjoyed arts and crafts, music, hunting, fishing and helping people.

His parents: Phanthavong and Phim Phetvixay of Laos;
His brothers: Maione Phetvixay, Bounkong Phetvixay and Bounchanh Phetvixay all of Laos; and
His sisters: Jan Sivongxay of Winfield, KS; Simmaly Phetvixay of Laos; and Sonenaly Silevongxay of Laos.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kingkham and his sister, Onesy Phetvixay.
Buddhist ceremonies will take place at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, June 27, 2014.
