Peter J. Davis, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Freeman Health in Joplin, Missouri.

Peter was united in marriage to Edna "Maxine" Davis on June 11, 1947 at the First Christian Church in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. Peter worked for the City of Winfield in the Sanitation Department for over 40 years. Maxine preceded him in death on February 18, 2016.

He enjoyed restoring Model A cars and was a member of a vintage car club. He also enjoyed going to the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival and gardening. He was also involved with Meals on Wheels.

His family includes:
His sons: Terry Davis and wife, Fern Ann of Joplin, MO; Craig Davis and wife, Debbie of Broken Arrow, OK;
His grandchildren: Jerric, Matthew, Emily and Melinda; and
His great grandchildren: Parker, Lauren, Ethan and Gavin.

In addition to his parents and wife, Peter was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy May Askins.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Miles Funeral Service on Monday evening from 5 to 7.
