Obituary

Percy Angnabooguk, 61, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday morning, May 13, 2020 at AllianceHealth Ponca City.

Born June 22, 1958 in Wales, Alaska, he was the son of William and Clara (Koweluk) Angnabooguk.  The family later moved to Nome, Alaska, where he was raised and received his education.  Percy grew up in a large family as one of thirteen children.

Percy met Krista Martin in Nome, and the couple was later married in August 1978 in Miami, Oklahoma.  To this union, three children were born, Nathan, Christopher, and Marina.  The couple later divorced.

He enjoyed martial arts, going to the movies, mechanical things, swimming, hunting, riding the snowmobile, telling stories of his dad hunting seal and polar bear in Alaska, and teaching his kids funny words in the Eskimo language.  As a young boy, he liked playing with his ¾ wolf dog named Prince.  After he gave his life to Christ in June 1983, he enjoyed attending church.  Percy had friends all over, including Alaska, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

Percy's family includes his children, Nathan Angnabooguk of Kansas City; Christopher Angnabooguk of Kansas City; Marina Elwood and husband, Ethen, of Winfield; his grandchildren, Gracie, Rylee, and Regan Angnabooguk and Taylor, Kaleb and Preslee Elwood; his brothers, Wilson and Eddie; his sisters, Gail, Hannah, Bertha, Sharon, Carolyn and Rita; former wife, Krista of Winfield; and bunches of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Percy was preceded in death by his aunt, Polly; siblings, Christopher, Robert, Cordy, and Ruth; and his granddaughter, Paislee Rose.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Oxford Cemetery on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 2:00 P.M.  The graveside service will be available to be viewed live on the Miles Funeral Service Facebook page.
