Obituary

Peggy Frazier, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, February 7, 2015 at her home in Winfield.

Born February 25, 1930 near Udall, Kansas, she was the daughter of Virgil Glenn and Zola Ethel (Fruits) Randall. She was raised and received her education in Oxford and Winfield graduating from Winfield High School.

She was united in marriage to Jimmy Owens on January 3, 1948. The couple made their home in Winfield, where Peggy went to work for Cessna Aircraft. To this union two children were born. Mr. Owens preceded her in death in May of 1956.

Peggy was united in marriage to Ronald "R.G." Frazier, on September 5, 1959 in Winfield, Kansas. The couple made their first home in Winfield. In 1965 the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and Peggy remained in the home to raise their family. In 1970 they moved to a farm near Prue, Oklahoma. In 1983 she began working for McDonald Douglas and remained there for 10 years until retiring in 1993. After retirement Peggy and R.G. traveled the United States in a motor home, wintering in Quartsite, Arizona. In 2007 the couple returned to Winfield to be near family. Mr. Frazier preceded her in death on August 22, 2010.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prue and attended Crossroads Community Church in Winfield. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, gardening, playing games online, working puzzles, and going to casinos. She especially loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.

Her family includes:
Her daughters: Carolyn Roberts and husband, Kent of Winfield; Tammy Ledford and husband, Ron of Skiatook, OK; Debbie Voorhis of Springfield, MO; Julie Yarbrough and husband, Steve of Enid, OK;
Her sisters: Patty Winegarner and husband, Bob of Winfield; Barbara Flegler and husband, Gary of El Dorado; Marsha Edmondson and husband, Mike of Winfield;
Her brothers: Don Randall of Winfield; Bud Randall and wife, Jill of Winfield;
Her brother-in-law: Bill McArtor of Winfield;
Her 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; and
Her loving canine companion: Gigi.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Michael Owens and a sister, Donna McArtor.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery northwest of Winfield. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Peggy's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
