PAULINE M. RICE, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday evening, April 26, 2011 at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield.

Born on June 4, 1925 in Manchester, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Joseph and Emelia (Boufford) Morency. She was raised and received her education in Manchester. She was employed at the Concord State Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire.

She was united in marriage to Richard Lewis Rice on September 2, 1941 in New Hampshire. The couple moved to Winfield in 1954 and she was employed at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. She later worked at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center in the food service department and retired in the mid 1970's. Pauline also operated a daycare business and took in ironing.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in New Hampshire and attended Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. She enjoyed dancing, swimming, and stamp and coin collecting.

Her daughter: Gail Ranger and husband Bruce of Winfield, KS;
Her sister: Dorothy Weirick of San Clemente, CA;
Her grandchildren: Heather Kobel, Bruce Ranger and David Ranger;
Her great-grandchildren: Cody Ranger, Logan Ranger, Allison Rozell, Marah Ranger and Lila Kobel; and
Her speical friend: Gilly Cook of Arkansas City, KS;
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sue Rice; and her sisters, Madeline White, Rachel Holmberg, Geraldine Rogers and Eva Gage.

Cremation has taken place. Family inurnment will take place at a later date in New Hampshire.

Memorials have been established in Pauline's name for Cumbernauld Village and Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
