Obituary

Paula D. Feger, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday evening, September 8, 2018 at William Newton Hospital.

Born September 3, 1929 in Mound Valley, Kansas, she was the daughter of Clifford A. and Alice T. (McClanahan) Moon. She was raised in Niotaze and attended school in Peru. Her family moved to Cedar Vale, Kansas in 1942 where she attended and graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1947.

Paula was united in marriage to Charles M. Feger on July 17, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield where Paula graduated from St. Mary's Nursing School in 1950. Following school, she began her nursing career at William Newton Memorial Hospital. She later went to work for Dr. Warren Bernstorf until his passing when she went to work for the Wells Kaufman Clinic. Paula then became the Plant Nurse for Cessna Aircraft at Strother Field. She transferred to the Wichita plant where she remained until retiring.

Paula enjoyed attending the Nurse's Alumni and was currently attending Aviator Church in Winfield. She enjoyed woodcarving, knitting, crocheting, fishing, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her family includes her daughter Marcia Thiel and husband, Daryl of Winfield; her sister Linda Kenzy and husband, Layne of Winfield; her brother-in-law Gene Feger and wife, Paula of Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Julie Hopkins and husband, Brian; Brian Thiel and wife, Vickie; Brady Thiel and wife, Nikki; Angie Hogan; Dustin Widener and wife, Danielle; Paula Jo Robinson; Ashley Widener; and her 22 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Paula was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy Jo Widener.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.

Memorials have been established in Paula's name for USD 465 Foundation Evans Art Restoration specifically for Grace Raymond Art, the Aviator Church, and the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
