PAUL D. DOOLITTLE, 78, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 9, 2014 at his home.
Born March 23, 1936 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, he was the son of Lewis William "Doc" and Aletha "Doe" (Hoyt) Doolittle. He attended Green Valley grade school in Udall and Udall High School, graduating from Udall High School with the class of 1954.
Paul was united in marriage to Zoe Kennedy on May 19, 1964 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Winfield. Paul worked at Boeing, Struthers Thermo Flood, Reynolds Drilling and Morton Buildings. He retired from Morton Buildings as a diesel mechanic in May of 1998. After retirement, Paul worked for Ziegler True Value, drove a bus for USD 465, and Miles Funeral Service.
Paul was a member of the K & O Steam and Gas Engine Association. He enjoyed building wind chimes and woodworking and especially loved playing with his John Deere Tractor.

His daughters: Sandy Doolittle of Kansas City, MO; Jody Schlecht and husband, Jim of Lewiston, MI; Jeannie Carley of Olathe, KS;
His grandchildren: Mia Topper and husband, David; Heath Schlect and companion, Elisha Estes;
His great grandchildren: Tavis Topper and companion, Tommie, Kelly Topper, Bryce Schlecht Aimes, Cheyenne Schlecht, Prestyn Schlecht, Aniya Schlecht; and
His great-great grandchildren: Caden, Braelynn, Adilynn and Camdyn Topper.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Doolittle and his sisters, Stella Thompson and Wilmeta Ruiz.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Wilmot Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.
Friends are inviting to greet the family and have lunch at the Cornerstone Christian Church in Atlanta following graveside services.
A Memorial has been established in Paul's name for the K&O Steam and Gas Engine Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
