Patty Lou Winegarner, 80, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, February 16, 2015 at Winfield Rest Haven.
Born May 31, 1934 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Virgil Glenn and Zola Ethel (Fruits) Randall. She was raised and received her early education in Oxford and attended Winfield High School.
Patty was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Winegarner on October 28, 1950 in Harrison, Arkansas. The couple made their first home in Wichita where Patty worked for Mall Drug Store. While working at the drug store she went to school and graduated with a degree in Cosmetology. In 1965 the family moved to Winfield and Patty remained in the home to raise the couple's children. She later went to work as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Barr in Winfield. She remained with the practice for over 20 years retiring from Dr. Poltera's Dental Office in 1997. She also worked for many years for the Winfield Daily Courier as a distributor of papers to the paper boys. She enjoyed traveling, metal detecting, playing cards, and going to casinos to play the slot machines.

Her sisters: Marsha Edmunson and husband, Mike of Winfield; Barbara Fleglar and husband, Gary of El Dorado;
Her grandchildren: Trisha Winegarner and husband, Stephen Hansen of Manor, TX; Nicole Winegarner of Austin, TX; Joshua Winegarner of Portland, OR; and
Her great-granddaughter: Parker Hansen of Manor, TX.
In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by a son, Rance Winegarner, and two sisters, Donna McArtor and Peggy Frazier.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 23, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas. A private family inurnment will take place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery north of Winfield at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Patty's name for the Winfield Relay For Life. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
