Obituary

PATTY J. NOYES, 83, of Dexter, Kansas and former Ulysses, Kansas resident, passed away Thursday morning, January 6, 2011 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield, Kansas.

Born on September 13, 1927 in Plattsburg, Missouri, she was the daughter of Elbert Rea and Lois (Stephens) Carter. She was raised and received her education in Plattsburg and graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1946.

She was united in marriage to Herbert L. Noyes on June 9, 1946 in Plattsburg. The couple made their home in Belton, Missouri until 1950 when they moved to Guymon, Oklahoma. In 1971, they moved to Ulysses and resided there for 40 years. They moved to the Dexter Care Center in 2010.

Mrs. Noyes was a fulltime homemaker and the couple were foster parents as well. She attended the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses. Patty was a dog project 4-H leader in Ulysses for 30 years. She enjoyed camping and dog grooming.

Her family includes:
Her husband: Herbert of Dexter, KS;
Her son: Stephen Noyes and wife Teresa of Rushville, MO;
Her daughters: Susan Campbell and husband Larry of Arkansas City, KS; Pennie Noyes of Ulysses, KS; Robin Noyes of Oklahoma; and Nicole Noyes of Dodge City, KS;
Her 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Noyes.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 10, 2011 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.

A memorial has been established in Patty's name for the American Alzheimer's Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
