Obituary

Patti Lee King, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 25, 2017 at Regent Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Wichita.

Born January 9, 1930 in Drumright, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Lawrence E. and Carrie A. (Bowers) Hull. At the age of 10, her family moved to Winfield, Kansas. Patti was raised and finished her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1947. As a teenager, she worked at Woolworths and Nile Theatre.

She was united in marriage to K. Berwin King on September 17, 1949 in Arkansas City. The couple made their home in Winfield where Patti was a dedicated homemaker. She later worked at First National Bank and Montgomery Ward before beginning her career in Sales at Ruppelius Jewelry. She remained at Ruppelius for over 20 years, retiring in 1995. Mr. King preceded her in death on May 5, 2005.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Winfield. She enjoyed painting and cooking and especially loved her church and her family.

Her sons: Eric S. King and wife, Barbara of Wichita, KS; Kyle A. King and wife, Marsha of Glendale, AZ;
Her grandchildren: Heather Cook and husband, Jeff of Phoenix, AZ; Amber King of Glendale, AZ; Zachary King and wife, Kerri of Hoyt, KS; Jennifer Ruffley and husband, Matthew of Junction City, KS; and
Her great grandchildren: Camryn, Kylee, Makena, Cooper, Kiley, Logan, Jackson, Jefferson, Lincoln, Chase, Caden and Emma.

In addition to her parents and husband, Patti was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Haney and an infant grandson, Anthony Joseph.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Oxford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

Memorials have been established in Patti's name for the Church of Christ in Winfield and for Winfield Rest Haven. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
