Patrick W. Shannon, 55, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, April 26, 2020 at Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital.

Born March 23, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was the son of Paul and Dorothy (Jackson) Shannon. He was raised and received his education in the Tulsa area, graduating from Mannford High School in 1983. Following high school, he attended The University of Tulsa. He later moved to Ponca City, where he began working as a warehouse manager for Albertson's Grocery. Patrick then started his own carpet cleaning company which he ran until opening a pizza restaurant in Newkirk.

In 1999, Patrick moved to Winfield, Kansas and began working at Rubbermaid where he met Patricia Bruce. The couple were united in marriage on January 12, 2002 in Eureka Springs. They made their home in Winfield. Patrick later worked at Conoco Refinery in Ponca City, before going to work as warehouse manager for Premier Blending.

He was a very active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Winfield, serving as a board member, helping cook many dinners at the church, as well as working with the youth group. He enjoyed botanical gardens, cooking, photography, scuba diving, and going on cruises. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His family includes his wife Patricia Shannon of Winfield; his children, Cameron Shannon of Winfield; Trisha Shannon of Fargo, ND; Rebecca Bilderback and husband, Ryan of Iola; Chanel Stroud of Winfield; his mother Dorothy Shannon of Sapulpa, OK; his siblings, Rick Shannon and wife, Sharon of Sand Springs, OK; Sandy McCarty and husband, David of Sand Springs, OK; Debbie Willis and husband, Richard of Sand Springs, OK; his sister-in-law Janet Shannon of Tulsa, OK; his grandchildren, Kiara Zoglmann and Braden Stroud; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Patrick was preceded in death by his father Paul Shannon and a brother Randy Shannon.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6. The family will greet visitors during this time.

A memorial has been established in Patrick's name for the First Church of the Nazarene in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
