Patricia Irene Miller, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, July 11, 2017 at her home.
Patricia was born November 3, 1927 in Argonia, Kansas. She was the daughter of Fred W. and Clara Mae (Crites) Rouch. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1945. She worked at JJ Banks as an accountant right out of high school. She was united in marriage to Lawrence H. Miller on January 12, 1947 at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. The couple made their home on a farm in Pleasant Valley and eventually moved to Beaver Township in 1958. Patricia worked as a housewife and farm wife for many years while raising her young family. When her children were grown, she went to work at JC Penny's. Lawrence preceded her in death on January 28, 2002.
Mrs. Miller was an active longtime member of First Baptist Church in Winfield and was involved with the American Baptist Women within the church. She volunteered for the Red Cross when she was younger. She and Lawrence loved to travel, especially to Branson and Texas. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed canning vegetables. She provided the green beans for all the church funeral dinners for several years.

Her grandchildren: Eric Miller and significant other, Cova Aguilar of Roman Forest, TX; Jamie Miller and significant other Danny Hiller of Houston, TX; Megan Shelby and husband, Trevor of Oklahoma City, OK; Matthew Finney and fiancé, Mandy of Winfield; Fran Stevenson and husband, Brad of Dublin, OH; Aaron Mayfield and wife, Jill of McPherson;
Her great grandchildren: Tyler and Natalie Shelby; Elizabeth, Grant and Nicholas Lapham; Jayden and Avery Mayfield.
In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by a brother, Fred David Rouch, son-in-law, Floyd Mayfield and a great grandson, Caleb Mayfield.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.
A memorial has been established in Patricia's name for First Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
