PATRICIA J. 'TRISH' MEIER, 61, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at her home.

Born on August 29, 1953 in Neosho, Missouri, she was born to David and Norma Jean (Patterson) Young. She was raised and received her education in Neosho, graduating from Neosho High School in 1971. She later attended Neosho Beauty College.

Trish was united in marriage to Roger G. Meier on March 17, 1995 in Winfield, Kansas. Over the years, she was employed at Boeing Aircraft, Rubbermaid, Defore Realtors, Albright Prudential and Hauber Realtors. She co-owned Off the Beaten Path and Mulberry Creek, which she later purchased. She retired in 2014 due to her health.

She was very involved in the community serving on the Cowley County Fair Board where she was in charge of commercial exhibits. Trish was also a past member and officer of the Soroptimist. She helped with Kanza Days, Walnut Valley Festival, and was one of four original founders of Fall Into The Holidaze. Trish also was a member of the Wichita Realtor association. She loved spending time with family, cooking, crocheting and quilting.

Her step-mother: Lena Young of Neosho, MO;
Her brother: Michael Young and wife Andrea of Derby, KS;
Her sisters: Terri Smith and husband Dusty of Owasso, OK; and Toby Affusso and husband Jeff of Fairfax, VA;
Her sister-in-law: Lois Askins and husband Allen of Winfield, KS;
Her grandchildren: Mallory, Austyn, Nicholas, Hunter, Koal, Ellyn and Kloee; and
Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Young and her step-father, Dale Richards.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday evening, April 13, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service and the family will greet friends during this time.

A memorial has been established in Trish's name for Good Shepherd Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
