Patricia "Pat" Collins, 91, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor.
Born September 25, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Benjamin Willoughby and Mary Catherine (Bianchi) Willoughby Ensey. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School.
She was united in marriage to Tommy G. Collins on January 20, 1951, in Winfield. The couple made their first home in Wichita, before moving to Winfield in February of 1952. Pat began her career with Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator in the early 1950's. She continued her career for over 50 years, retiring from AT&T as a supervisor. After retiring she worked as a consultant for a short time. Tom preceded her in death on February 8, 2008.
Pat was a member of the Assembly of God Church, attending both GracePointe Assembly of God in Winfield, and Ark City First Assembly of God in Arkansas City. She enjoyed sewing, making dresses for her daughters. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Tommy.
She is survived by her daughter Jenny Kennedy and husband, Scott of South Sioux City, NE; her son-in-law Roger Van Fleet of Winfield; her grandchildren, Ryan Van Fleet of Ponca City, OK; Jason Van Fleet and wife, Erika of Topeka; Gregory Kennedy of South Sioux City, NE; Laura Kennedy of Blue Springs, MO; and Tiffany Kennedy of Wayne, NE; her 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter Teresa Louise Van Fleet and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 19, 2024, at GracePointe Assembly of God Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.
A memorial has been established in Pat's name for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
