Obituary

Norma Jean (Coady) Nulik, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away January 6, 2017 at the Kansas Veterans Home.

Born at home in Anthony, Kansas, she was the daughter of Pete and Ruby (Sevier) Coady. She attended Enterprise Country School and graduated from Anthony High School.

On August 17, 1947 she was united in marriage to Ivan Nulik at the Church of God in Anthony. To this union three sons were born, Pete, Jeff and Andy. Norma Jean and Ivan lived in Anthony until he was drafted into the Army. Upon his return from the service, they built their first home in Anthony with the help of family and friends. In 1962 they moved to the farm east of Anthony, where they famed and had a dairy. During this time, Norma Jean was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, President of the ABC Club and was Worthy Matron in Eastern Star. In 1982, she and Ivan sold the dairy and moved back into Anthony. At this time, Morma worked at the Harper County Courthouse.

Upon their retirement, Norma Jean and Ivan moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma and then to Winfield, Kansas. Norma Jean's hobbies included flower gardening, reading and cooking. She was happiest when cooking for family at big gatherings.

Norma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan, her parents, her sister, Inez Holliday and an infant son, Leslie.

She will be missed by:
Her sons: Pete Nulik and wife, Stephanie of Winfield; Jeff Nulik and wife, Jerrilin of Anthony; Andy Nulik and wife, Cheryl of Indianapolis, IN;
Her brother: J.E. Coady of St. Joseph, MO;
Her 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and
Many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Inurnment will take place later that afternoon at 3:00 at Spring Grove Cemetery in Anthony.

Memorials have been established in Norma Jean's name for the Kansas Veterans Home and for the Shriners Hospital for Children. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
