NORMA KINDLER, 89, formerly of Udall, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Oxford.
Born March 12, 1921 in Olean, New York, she was the daughter of Frank and Maude (Murtagh) Smith. She was raised and received her education in Rochester, New York. Norma lived in San Diego, California, Phoeniz, Arizona and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before making her home in Udall, Kansas.
She was employed at the William Newton Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide for many years. She later worked at the Ponca City American Legion Home for Kids until her retirement in 1976.
Norma was united in marriage to Arthur DeFisher in Rochester, New York in 1941. To this union, one son, Frank, was born. The couple divorced in 1943. She was married to Reece Kessler in 1946. The couple had two sons, Robert and Geren and one daughter, Doris. Mr. Kessler preceded her in death in 1953. Norma was married to Robert Kindler in 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Kindler preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Udall, Kansas. She enjoyed reading, and loved keeping track of her children and family.

Her son: Frank DeFisher and wife, Pam of Mayfield, Kansas;
Her daughter: Doris Rubadeau and husband, George of Udall, Kansas;
Her step-daughters: Anita Hale of Mesa, Arizona; and Kathy Hufschneider of North Carolina;
Her 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Norma was preceded in death by her brothers, Renard, James and Robert Smith, her sisters, Doris Motz and Janet Lyman, her sons, Robert and Geren Kessler, her grandson, Kevin DeFisher, and her step-son, Roger Kindler.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of the Nazarene in Udall. Interment will follow at the Udall Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Monday evening from 4 to 8.
A Memorial has been established in Norma's name for the Church of the Nazarene in Udall. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
