Norma Jean Bossi, 73, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, August 29, 2011 at William Newton Hospital.
Born October 09, 1937 in Arkansas City, Kansas, she was the daughter of Floyd and Freda(Fiehler) Heffner. She was raised and received her education in Arkansas City graduating from Arkansas City High School in 1955. She then attended a business college in Oklahoma City for two years.
Norma was united in marriage to Thomas Richard Bossi on August 12, 1956 at the Presbyterian Church in Arkansas City. The couple made their first home in Arkansas City. In 1962 the couple moved to Winfield where Norma worked as a bookkeeper for Harold Sinclair's accounting firm. In 1977 Tom and Norma purchased Pierce's Inc., in Winfield. They owned and operated the business together for over twenty years until retiring in 1999. Norma was also active in the Winfield Community Theatre where she worked on costumes as well as performing in several productions.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Winfield, the Walnut Valley Quilters Guild and served on the board at the Winfield Public Library. She enjoyed reading, quilting, working crossword puzzles and playing bridge.

Her grandsons: Ian and Colin Bossi of St. Louis, MO;
Her brother: Charles Heffner of Oklahoma City, OK; and
Several nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday September 02, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Spring Side Cemetery south of Arkansas City. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday September 01, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 that evening.
Memorials have been established in Mrs. Bossi's name for the Winfield Public Library and for the First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
