NOLA AILEEN BUTTERS, 83, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, March 23, 2015 at William Newton Hospital.
Born on September 6, 1931 in Wellington, Kansas she was the daughter of Frank M. and Nola (Underwood) Carr. She was raised and received her education in Wellington, graduating from Wellington High School in 1949.
She was united in marriage to Carl Jack Butters on June 4, 1950 in Wellington, Kansas. The couple lived in Wellington, Wyoming and Ardmore, Oklahoma. In 1956 they moved to Winfield. Aileen was employed at Gott Manufacturing and later at the City of Winfield in the electric department. Jack preceded her in death on July 2, 2005.
Aileen was a member of the First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat card group. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing Freecell, going to Island Park and her dog, Ralphie.

Her sons: Steven Butters and wife Sally of Jersey City, NJ; Jim Butters and wife Brenda and John Butters and wife Debra all of Winfield, KS;
Her grandchildren: Bojason, Jonathan and Sam Butters, Betsy Bellerive, Kristi Ast, Christopher and Matthew Steadham, and Mitchell and Matthew Meier;
Her 18 great-grandchildren; and
Her sister-in-law: Dolores Carr.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Steadham in 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 27, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 26. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., that evening.
Memorials have been established in Aileen's name for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the First Christian Church.
